If you happen to see a giant, fearsome looking bear mascot walking down Manchester Street accompanied by a bevy of attractive girls in Boston Bruins gear, it’s to be expected. Boston Bruins mascot Blades and the Bruins Ice Girls have been added to the bill of the Boston Bruins Alumni Day in New Hampshire at the Red Blazer on Thursday, December 17th from 2-5 p.m.
 Former Boston Bruins greats Rick Middleton, Terry O’Reilly and Brad Park will be featured at this event which will kick off with an autograph signing from 2-3 p.m. leading into a live radio broadcast of Jack Heath’s “New Hampshire Today” program on WTPL 107.7 FM from 3-5 p.m. The trio of Bruins greats will be appearing in the Granite State in advance of their participation in the Boston Bruins AT&T Legends Classic at Fenway Park in Boston on January 2nd.
Blades the Bruin has been entertaining Bruins fans with his wild antics for years while the Ice Girls, the official on-ice dance team, have been a welcome addition to the rough and tumble team and a staple of Bruins charity events. Together, they will be available for autographs and help coordinate raffles for game tickets, Bruins gear and autographed items.
 Boston Bruins Alumni Day in New Hampshire is sponsored by the WTPL, the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, Public Service of New Hampshire and Northeast Delta Dental. The Division of Economic Development is using the event as a way to promote its full page advertisement in the Bruins Winter Classic Program to be sold at Fenway Park during the New Year’s Day outdoor contest between the Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Fans planning to attend the event are urged to bring their own items (one item per attendee) to be signed. Three Boston Bruins legends, an innovative business recruitment effort and one of the State’s best known local talk radio programs will make for a winning combination as the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, WTPL 107.7 FM and Public Service of NH join together to host Boston Bruins Alumni Day in New Hampshire at the Red Blazer on Thursday, December 17th from 2-5 p.m.

Fans of the Division of Economic Development’s No Bull Facebook page (www.nheconomy.com/facebook) will have an opportunity to win a special pre-Bruins Alumni Day in New Hampshire event luncheon with the players as well as an autographed hockey stick. Event attendees will also have a chance to win other prizes including tickets to the AT&T Legends Classic.
“Public Service of New Hampshire is proud to be part of an event that draws attention to the State’s considerable recruitment efforts,” said Public Service of New Hampshire Economic & Community Development Manager Pat McDermott. “This is just the latest in a long line of innovative partnerships that New Hampshire’s public and private sectors are engaging in to attract emerging entrepreneurs and already established out-of-state companies.”
 Brad Park Bruins standout right winger and New Hampshire resident Rick “Nifty” Middleton, a former Lady Byng Trophy winner (for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct) who scored 448 goals in his professional career, has been named the honorary Granite State ambassador for the event. He will be joined by former Bruins captain and head coach Terry O’Reilly who racked up over 600 points and amassed 2,095 penalty minutes as a member of the “Big Bad Bruins” as well as NHL Hall of Famer Brad Park, a five-time first team NHL All-Star. All three players are integral members of the Bruins Alumni squad which plays games throughout New England to raise money for a variety of charities.

What happens when music and message collide in a glorious explosion of sound and social awareness? If you want to find out, you should make plans to listen to WTPL’s “First Class Business” segment on Wednesday, November 4th at 4 p.m. when Moore Center Services President & CEO Paul Boynton is featured.
 Moore Center Services President & CEO Paul Boynton Boynton, whose Manchester-based agency supports services for individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries, will be discussing Life in the Years, a new national health care initiative to develop innovative community-based care options for our nation’s elderly. The first program under this initiative is a national Adult Foster Care for Elderly program that will provide seniors with significant cost savings over nursing home placement and a better quality of life.
In a unique twist, the initiative uses music to create awareness and provide financial support. Moore Center Services has joined with Musicians for a Cause to develop the most comprehensive compilation of music in the world focused on creating compassion for the elderly called Life in the Years, a CD which is being sold nationwide through a grassroots network of Life in the Years Champions as well as on Amazon. The initiative’s goal is a Gold Record – 500,000 copies, which will enable funding of the implementation of at least one new program in every state.
Nationally known recording artists Natalie Merchant, Livingston Taylor, Carly Simon joined songwriters selected from an international competition on this project in which entries were selected based on their ability to create emotion, awareness and compassion.

Congratulations are in store for New London Hospital whose CEO Bruce King was recently featured on our WTPL 107.7 “First Class Business” segment with host Jack Heath and New Hampshire Division of Economic Development Interim Director Roy Duddy.
 New London Hospital CEO Bruce King The hospital’s ambitious expansion and renovation plan, Building Towards the Future, includes approximately 46,000 square feet of new construction and 12,500 square feet of renovations. With the expansion slated to conclude later on this month, here are some of the relevant features of the project:
Private Inpatient Rooms – eight new rooms being built along with the renovation of original existing rooms, resulting in ALL private rooms.
Expansion/Renovation of Specialty Services – Appropriate space for patients and clinicians in the areas of Cardiology, Oncology/Infusion, Coumadin and Neurology/Sleep lab.
Attached Medical Office Space – New attached patient/provider friendly medical office building with increased efficiency and improved patient access.
Creation of a United Campus – Pediatric practice, rehab services and billing services being brought to the main campus, decreasing expenses.
