The statistics are impressive when it comes to women-owned business in New Hampshire, as we saw in April in a report issued by the U.S. Census Bureau and American Express.
Between 1997 and 2012, the number of businesses in the Granite State owned by women had grown from 27,200 to 37,700 and the revenues earned went from $3.1 million to $6.9 million in that time.
Those are numbers too big to ignore.
(Sorry, we can’t resist.)
The same report concluded that nationwide, 90 percent of all women-owned firms have no employees, other than themselves. In New Hampshire, there are an estimated 37,700 women-owned firms, employing 37,800.
So it is easy for business women to get caught up in their work and responsibilities, deferring opportunities to network and even talk shop with other women just like them.
